Frequently asked questions

Short answers to the things players actually ask.

Streaks, shields, and the Perfect Day

What is a streak? Each game tracks how many consecutive days you have completed its daily puzzle. Miss a day and the streak resets, unless a Streak Shield saves it.

What is a Streak Shield? A shield is consumed automatically the first day you miss, keeping your streak alive. You earn one by completing a Perfect Day, and you can also buy one with tokens.

What is a Perfect Day? Winning all three daily puzzles, each on your first try, in a single day. It pays bonus tokens on top of the shield.

Tokens and themes

How do I earn tokens? Daily wins pay tokens, the daily stamp card pays a little every day you show up and more as the week fills, and Perfect Days pay a bonus. Tokens are earned by playing; there is no way to buy them.

What do tokens buy? Hints during any puzzle, Streak Shields, and themes. The theme shop has twelve looks, from the free Classic to dark, warm, and glowing styles at prices between 150 and 600 tokens. Themes are cosmetic only.

Purchases

What does Remove Ads cost? A single one-time payment of $2.99. It removes banner and interstitial ads forever on that browser. Nothing else changes: no extra puzzles, no boosts, no pay-to-win.

I bought it and got a new device. Now what? Your purchase comes with a license key. Enter the same key on the new device through the Remove Ads screen and it unlocks again. If you lose the key, contact support with your purchase email.

Progress and data

Do I need an account? No. Progress lives in your browser. The Backup and restore option on the home screen exports your progress as a file you can import anywhere, which is also the way to move between devices.

I cleared my browser data and lost everything. Browser storage is the only storage, so a saved backup file is the safety net. Export one occasionally.

Accessibility and fairness

Is there a colorblind mode? Yes: a Color vision setting on the home screen offers red-green and blue-yellow friendly palettes, adds shape markers to solved groups, and adjusts the share squares.

Can I turn off sound? The speaker toggle on the home screen mutes everything and remembers your choice.

A real word was rejected! Forge accepts a large tournament dictionary plus modern words, and standard plurals of accepted words count automatically. If something legitimate is refused, use the report link under the puzzle; reports go straight to the developer and dictionary fixes ship often.
